Luna Innovations
Company Profile:
Luna Innovations (NASDAQ: LUNA) is a leader in optical technology, committed to serving its customers with unique capabilities in high-performance, fiber-optic-based sensing, measurement, testing and control products for the aerospace, transportation, infrastructure, security, process control, communications, silicon photonics, defense, and automotive industries, among others. Enabling the future with fiber, Luna’s innovative optical-based technologies are used to measure and monitor a variety of mechanical and physical properties of materials, components, structures and processes.
Luna’s fiber optic sensing solutions overcome the limitations and challenges of using thermocouples, RTDs and other traditional temperature measurement technologies. Fiber optic temperature sensors can be easily embedded and installed in challenging locations and environments with minimal cabling and wiring, delivering an unprecedented level of spatial thermal detail. Luna’s fiber optic strain sensors can be embedded and installed in locations traditional strain gages cannot and deliver an unprecedented level of spatial detail and data without sacrificing precision and sensitivity. Luna's fiber optic sensing solutions are ideal for a wide variety of structural analysis, material testing and health monitoring applications.
Luna’s innovative optical accelerometer, based on Fabry-Perot technology, combines a very high level of sensitivity with the inherent advantages of fiber optic sensing and the ability to multiplex multiple accelerometers on a single optical fiber over long distances. Terahertz sensors and measurement technology are able to very precisely measure the thickness of materials, coatings and layers. While existing measurement techniques require either direct contact or transparent layers, terahertz systems are able to non-destructively measure layers and materials without making contact and non-destructively. Material thickness can be measured real-time for process control, or used for inspection in quality control applications. Visit www.lunainc.com to learn more.
